Who We Are
Owner and operator, Jose Lago, began trucking in 2001 after attending National Truck Driving School in Green Cove Springs, Florida. For nearly two decades, Jose worked as a local and over-the-road driver for nationwide mega carriers, including Armellini Express Lines, Averitt Express and Covenant Transport.
During that time, Jose learned the commercial trucking business inside and out. He came to the realization that truckers should be treated differently. With mega carriers, you’re only as good as your last load. He wanted more for himself and for hardworking, dedicated drivers. That led him to found White Lion Transportation.
With the desire to make White Lion a family business, Jose recruited his brother, Danny, to help with day-to-day operations, from dispatching to office management.
Danny earned his Freight Broker Agent Certificate in 2018 and has previous managerial experience in the electronics and outdoor power equipment industries.
Together, Jose and Danny are working together to build a fleet of trucks and are looking for committed drivers interested in sticking it out for the long haul.
